Sheena Easton (née le à Bellshill en Écosse) est une chanteuse et actrice écossaise des années 1980.
Elle a joué le rôle d'une star du rock et l'épouse du détective Sonny Crockett dans la saison 4 de la série télévisée Deux flics à Miami, a également interprété le générique du film James Bond, Rien que pour vos yeux (For your eyes only).
Sheena a collaboré avec Prince sur les titres : U got the Look (1987) et The Arms of Orion (1989) pour la bande originale de Batman, et sur le titre "Sugar walls".
En 1988 sort son neuvième album The Lover In Me produit essentiellement par le duo gagnant L.A. Reid & Babyface ainsi que Prince.
En 1991 elle sort un album au son dance "What comes naturally" dans
la lignee de "The lover in me" qui n'obtient pas le même accueil du
public. Le premier single du même titre n'atteint que la 20e place au
billboard US.
Sheena Shirley Easton (née Orr; born 27 April 1959) is a
Scottish born international recording artist and stage and TV/film
actress with dual UK/USA nationality. Easton first came into the public
eye as the focus of an episode in the first British reality television
programme The Big Time: Pop Singer, which recorded her attempts to gain a record contract and her eventual signing with EMI Records.
Easton's 1980 debut singles, "Modern Girl" and "9 to 5"," entered into the UK top ten, making her the first UK female artist to appear twice in the same top ten since Ruby Murray. In 1981, "9 to 5", topped the US Hot 100, making her the third UK female solo artist to achieve this, following Petula Clark and Lulu and is one of the most successful British female performers to date.
A six-time Grammy nominee in the US, Easton is a two-time Grammy Award winner, winning Best New Artist in 1981 and Best Mexican-American Performance in 1985, for her duet with Luis Miguel on the song "Me Gustas Tal Como Eres".
She has received 5 U.S. Gold albums and 1 U.S. Platinum album. She has
recorded 16 studio albums, released 45 singles, and had 15 Top 40 hits
on the US Billboard Hot 100 between 1981 and 1991. She also had 25 top
40 hits in international territories around the world. In Canada, Easton
scored 3 gold and 2 platinum albums. She has sold over 25 million
albums and singles worldwide.
Easton became the first and only artist in history to have a top 5 hit on five different Billboard charts consecutively, with Morning Train (9 to 5) (Pop & Adult Contemporary), "We've Got Tonight" with Kenny Rogers (Country), "Telefone (Long Distance Love Affair)" (Dance), and "Sugar Walls" (R&B).
Easton's other hits include the James Bond theme "For Your Eyes Only", "Strut", "U Got the Look" and "The Arms of Orion" with Prince, "The Lover in Me" and "What Comes Naturally".
